"My son got a new bed. His old twin size quilt would no longer work on his queen size bed, so I had to make something for him in a hurry. Simple squares were the quickest pattern to make quickly. "The Sunshine Guild, an online quilt guild was organized in 1997 and currently has about 500 members worldwide. We make quilts and donate them to children in need. All our work is on a volunteer basis. Our quilts ar donated to Wrap-a-Smile which is affiliated with Rotary and Rotaplast. They give quilts to children following cleft lip and cleft palate surgery. We also donate to Wrap-Them-in-Love which gives quilts to children in orphanages worldwide. Quilts have gone to children in Armenia, Russia, China, Kenya, Peru, Bolivia, Guatamala, Mexico, US, Canada and many other countries.
