Mission:

The purpose of Dakota County Star Quilters shall be to contribute to the growth of knowledge about quilting techniques, patterns, history and quilt-making by providing educational meetings, fun and fellowship, by sponsoring and supporting quilting activities, by encouraging quilt-making, and by promoting the appreciation and knowledge of quilts.

 

We are located in Dakota County, Minnesota, near Minneapolis and St. Paul.

Meetings:

Visitors are always welcome. Thinking of joining?  Come to a meeting and get to know us.

DCSQ meets the 2nd Tuesday of every month, 7-9 pm, at the Eagan Community Center, Eagan, Minnesota.  (Click here for directions.

In February, our meeting is at our annual quilt show at the Dakota County Historical Society in South St Paul.

 The July meeting is a potluck picnic at a park in Eagan.

Baby Quilts made for Donation to Bundles of Love
Bundles of Love is a local charity that provides essential layette items to low-income parents of newborns.  This year DCSQ donated 118 baby quilts to Bundles of Love.

Twin Size Quilts made for Donation to Hovander House
Hovander House is a short-term residential facility of Regions Hospital in St. Paul for patients with mental illness.   DCSQ is making 9 Saw Tooth Star quilts and 2 Rail Fence quilts for Hovander House, to add a color and a touch of home to patients' rooms.

   
Camp Wapogasset, Amory, Wisconsin
Each year retreaters attending the DCSQ retreat at Camp Wapo make  blocks that are assembled into a quilt and donated to the camp.

 
Girl Scout Project for Dakota Woodlands
DCSQ members made 3 twin size quilts to help Annelise Orfei, a senior at Eagan High School, complete a Girl Scout project to decorate a bedroom at Dakota Woodlands, a housing facility for homeless women and children in Dakota County.
