Kimono Rose

Pieced and embellished by Jeannette Root.  Quilted by Julie Windsperger.

Lap size

This quilt was on the cover of Fons and Porter's "Love of Quilting" magazine.  I didn't see it as a full-size quilt, so I recalculated the measurements to get a quilt to hang behind my bed.

This was a small challenge quilt I did before moving to Minnesota.
More Fun than the Dollar Store

Pieced by Karen Asmundson and an anonymous quilter.  Quilted by Karen Asmundson.

I found an unfinished orphan quilt block at a flea market for $1.  As luck would have it, I had the same green fabric in my stash and was able to add muslin and more green squares to complete the block.  It's some of the most fun I've had with a dollar.

Doggone It

Pieced and quilted by Karen Asmundson.

Wall hanging

This quilt uses scraps from a quilt I made for my dad in 2002.  I kept finding the tan dog ears in my stash and had to keep sewing to use them all up.

Northwoods Quilt

Pieced and quilted by Kate Seaton.

Rosemary Root introduced me to quilting.  When she suggested I submit this quilt (my first one) for the quilt show, I was horrified.  However, at the first DCSQ meeting I attended, we were encouraged to submit work that we think is below par to encourage others to give quilting a try.  Ya gotta start somewhere, right?
Moose Applique

Pieced, appliquéd and quilted by Beth Kobliska

I thought that this would be fast and easy.  It was easy, but what made me think all that tracing and all the intricate cutting would be fast?
Spring Fever

This breath of spring is welcome in my home anytime.
David's Quilt

My dad passed away in July 2009.  I decided to make quilts from his work shirts.  This is the one I made for my brother.  They always worked together on yard projects, so I included the "Dickies" emblem from my dad's shirt as a special embellishment.

Marit Kucera's multi-colored hand-dyed fabrics were used in "Phoenix".  Background is navy batik.
Feathered Friends

Someone gave me 8 fat quarters of flannel for a baby blanket.   At first I thought they were ugly, and I'm still struggling with the colors.  I will put this in the hope chest for a future grandbaby and maybe then won't consider it ugly.
